Hello Ladies! Thank you again to Karen and Laura for organizing a fantastic conference. I had such a blast, met some wonderful women, and learned so much.
I had a question: so I live about 3 hours from my closest immediate family. My father (emergency contact / power of attorney, etc) is in his late 70s, and thankfully still in good health. He is my main emergency contact. However, I am thinking that I need someone closer to home as an emergency contact: or at least, emergency contact for those 3 hours until my Dad could come to me. I have a person in mind: my next door neighbor, in her 50s (?), divorced mom, woman I have known for about 4 years now. She has a key to my home and has looked in on my cats, so I clearly trust her :)
How have you dealt with approaching your emergency contacts? Did a certain approach work better than others?
