Hey everyone! Thank you for accepting me to the group. I'm Teresa, a childfree 'post-35 yr old female'. Let me say first that childrearing for me has never been a goal, I've made my career in the arts, as a painter, model, and graphic designer, and I respect those who make having kids a choice for themselves.
My question for this group is, has anyone on here experienced any workplace discrimination for being childfree? I normally dont disclose information like that about my self, unless I am asked outright if I have children, to which my stock answer is simply "No." :P However, there has been an undertone of hostility, a 'cold-shouldered'ness', toward me in the workplace (not every place, but enough to raise an eyebrow), and more often than not, its been from women who have children. Younger women, new moms. *Its not my imagination, it has occurred too many times for me not to notice a pattern* Just wondered if anyone else here experiences this sort of thing, or any other types of discrimination.
